Dubwise & Otherwise 2 (Blood & Fire, 2002)

*GUEST REVIEW*
Dubwise & Otherwise 2 gives you a random walk through the growing Blood & Fire catalogue.  Blood & Fire are a British label who specialise in reissuing rare albums and collections of rare tracks.  In some ways, they produce albums to the same standards as Pressure Sounds.  Dubwise 2 is an interesting collection of music with productions from Clive Chin, Bunny Lee, Vivian Jackson, Sly & Robbie, Niney The Observer, Big Youth, and Glenn Brown.  Budget samplers are easy to listen to once and the basically ignore.  Dubwise 2 is a very decent compilation that really deserves repeated random plays.  The primary focus of the album is roots, although a major slice of dub, a little soul, and toasting are also present.  If you are too lazy, skint, or mean to purchase albums from the Blood & Fire stable, then this sampler gives you a nice overview.  Blood & Fire has an uncanny knack for turning previously unknown tracks into anthems you just need to hear again and again.
