Penthouse Party Mix Volume 3 (Penthouse, 1995)

I've never really liked how mixes play such a small portion of a song before going on to the next one.  Needless to say, that's how this album collects 26 tracks on one album.  These types of albums are OK if you're having a party, but if not, what do you do when a song you like comes on, but it only lasts for two minutes?  It's a tad annoying.  That said, this mix is fairly well-made and well-mixed -- with an average of one rhythm for every 3 or 4 songs -- and the song choice is nice, particularly on the first half.  For me, Wayne Wonder's "Saddest Day," Beres Hammond's "My Wish" (AKA "I Wish"), and a pair of Twiggi tunes -- "It's Too Late" and "Where Did the Love Go?" -- are the major highlights.  Also nice are Marcia Griffiths' "I Shall Sing" and "Say You Want to Be Loved," Buju Banton's "Murderer," "Champion," and "Mine Behind the Wine," and Leroy Sibbles' "No Bad Feelings."  A major value of mixes like this one is that they provide good exposure to songs and/or artists you may not have otherwise heard, and chances are, if nothing else, Penthouse Party Mix Volume 3 does this.
