*GUEST REVIEW*
Greg Rose, AKA "Perfect," is, in my humble opinion, one of the most promising new talents to emerge from Jamaica. His singing style, although not "perfect," commands the listener's attention with extreme ease. It is his songwriting skills, however, that deserve the most merit. Most of you will have heard the massive "Hand Cart Bwoy" or the firey "Nuh Badda Mi," but there is plenty more on this remarkable album that deserves a listen. Perfect comes out with a few great lovers tracks, like "Cry Me a River" and "Wingless Earth Angel," and stirkes home with "Amerimaka" and "8 Gangsters" (blows to the United States and the G8 summit respectivley). My favirote song on the album has to be "Black Marcus," an emotional tribute to the late Marcus Garvey (and the best use of the Maroon Riddim yet, rivaling even Fantan Mojah's "Hail Di King"). Other tracks that stand out amongst the rest are the herb anthem "All I've Got," the soulful "Tyme," and the incredibly surreal and warbling "Little Old Lady." The only tracks that should have been ommited are "Love Has Found its Way" and "For Ma Family," in which Perfect switches to his unrecognizable tenor. However, they do not detract from the overall greatness of this album; it is a must. Perfect seems to have the world on his mind. As a popular radio station once described him, "The perfect youth with the perfect lyrics."
