Fabulous Greatest Hits (Melodisc, 1980)
*GUEST
REVIEW*
He was a very keen boxer and sound system bouncer. He produced one of the first dub
LPs. Madness named a song after him. Buster is simply the Prince of Blue Beat. First generation
ska, or Blue Beat, is slower than two tone's reality check.
Fabulous Greatest Hits gathers together a clutch of ska classics from 1964 to 1968. These are tracks are engineered to make you smile and dance. Think of a less brassy
Skatalities with great pop vocals. Fans of The
Specials, Madness, and The Selecter will recognise the infectious funky beats and the odd original track. This album is something I put on when I want to smile and attempt chicken dancing. Its a must for all reggae fans and one of the few Buster albums currently available. Who can argue with the kiltered drones of
"Al Capone"?
