The Serious Reggae Album Volume 6 (Classic Sound, 1996) The series finishes on a high note with this volume, possibly the most consistent of the bunch. The standouts here include Audrey Scott's bluesy version of "Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps" (also done by Dennis Brown), The Heptones' "Beggie, Beggie," and Marcia Griffiths' marvelous "Tell Me Now." Also solid are Dennis Brown's classic "Children of Israel," Sugar Minott's "Now We Know," and Crucial Vibes' romantic "Try Once More." |
