The Truth (Kingstone, 2005)

Alongside the Senorita riddim, the Truth forms an impressive dual release from newcomer Kingstone Records.  While Señorita is the dancehall party set, The Truth is the relaxed lovers album, featuring a sultry groove driven by a creeping bass line and saxophone riff.  German superstar Gentleman leads a strong mix of international acts and established Jamaican stars like Jack Radics, T.O.K., Mr. Easy, Ce'Cile, and Lutan Fyah.  Radics' idyllic "Dreamer," Gentleman's "Wicked Thoughts," German Phenomden's "Wann Larnemer" (Don't ask me what that means.), and Bruce Barron's Buju-like "Is It Really True" highlight one of the more entertaining one-rhythm albums you're likely to find nowadays.  www.kingstone.de.
